There are really many original cranberry sauce recipes in the web, but we want to suggest you a solution for your sauce in case you don't have fresh cranberries.

The cranberry sauce is also the perfect accompaniment for cheese boards. If you have never done it, you'll find quite bizarre that when you mix berries with sugar and put on medium heat, they begin to crackle and "explode."

We use tangerine juice but many people prefer to make cranberry sauce with orange juice.

Let's see how to make cranberry sauce from dried cranberries step by step.

  • Put the the dried cranberries in a small saucepan and put on heat.
  • Add the sugar and mix.
  • Now add the Marsala liqueur and than the tangerine juice. Bring to a boil always mixing.
  • Cook for 5 minutes and then turn of the heat. Let the cranberry sauce rest for 5 minutes.
  • Serve as an accompaniment to roasted or boiled meats, but also to cheeses.

This is the best cranberry sauce recipe you can do without fresh fruit! In case you an't find Marsala, replace it with Brandy.

Serve the sauce with your Thanksgiving turkey or add it to your cheese board. In particular we suggest you to serve cranberry sauce with Brie cheese.
