What to Grill on Barbecue
Warmer days are finally ahead of us and it is time to get out and enjoy the sun, nature and relax. This is also the season of picnics and barbecues with ourfriends. So, it's time to put out the grill and plan that perfect barbecue.
Some types of meat or particularcuts are not suitable to barbecue, as they tend to dry out and become too hard. Beef is by far the best meat to be cooked on the grill. Its molecular structure is very suitable for high temperature and allows an optimal cooking. The delicacy of pork depends in particular by the fat it contains, whereby the latter without it becomes particularly tough and dry. Therefore, if you are on a diet avoid eating pork. Even the chicken meat can be cooked on the grill with excellent results. You can either cook the whole chicken or cut it into smaller pieces. In both cases, however, it should be marinated for a few hours. Find out which type of marinade is better for your meat (and for fish).
Vegetables to grill on bbq
There are many grillable vegetable, so you can really have fun with the choice: eggplant, tomatoes, courgettes; peppers, onions, mushrooms and corn.
Dress them with extra virgin olive oil, mint leaves or fresh oregano, salt and pepper.
How to cook vegetables on a grill? Don't cut them into small pieces and cook on both sides.
If you like garlic make a marinade with extra virgin olive oil, balsamic vinegar, one clove of crushed garlic, salt and pepper.
On eggplants, zucchini and peppers try a teaspoon of pesto.
Bbq Grilled Cheese
What's the best grilled cheese? Not all types of cheese are suitable for barbecue. Choose cured cheese and cut it into thick slices. For example, scamorza cheese tend to melt too quickly.
Gourmet grilled cheese is delicious as is. Try a slice of grilled Pecorino or Provolone on baked bread. It is amazing! But many types of cheese can also be wrapped in a slice of vegetables or of cured meat. Wrap a piece of provolone in a slice of eggplant and grill it. Or grill a piece of Gruyère or another hard cheese wrapped into a slice of bacon. Or try Tomino wrapped into a slice of Speck. You can serve it with a drizzle of olive oil and chopped parsley or basil, or with chopped nuts, or just with chilli oil, as well as paired with acacia honey.
Fish to grill on barbecue
Fish on the barbecue is really delicious. Blue fish is the king of the grill: anchovies, herring, sardines, mackerel, mackerel, skipjack...
If you like steaks, you can opt for swordfish, tuna, salmon, yellowtail. Fat fish is good because fat prevent it from getting too dry.
Shellfish is excellent for frill: shrimp, prawns, shrimps, lobsters, lobsters, spider crabs, crabs, cicadas. You don't have to season them, just cook on the grill for a very short time.
Be careful with shellfish: it tends to become gummy. But if you really love it, prefer small cuttlefish, octopus and squids. Brush with a little oil and cook for a short time, which is a very good method to prevent the fish from drying out and gives it a tasty and delicious crust.
Fruit grilling for an excellent dessert
It may seem strange but there are different kinds of fruits that are delicious when grilled.
Grilled pineapple and melon, peaches cut in half, and bananas (with the peel) are incredibly yummy.
Serve them sprinkled with brown sugar, walnuts or pistachios, or fresh mint. On bananas you can pour a dry liquor, sugar and butter.
